INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Fans who were killed and injured when stage rigging and sound equipment collapsed onto them as they awaited a Sugarland concert at the Indiana State Fair failed to take steps to ensure their own safety and are at least in part to blame for their injuries, the country duo’s attorneys said.

The statement, part of a Feb. 16 response to a civil suit filed by survivors and families of some of those killed, comes in sharp contrast to earlier statements by lead singer Jennifer Nettles and appears to be an attempt to cast blame elsewhere.

Calling the powerful winds that toppled the stage on Aug. 13 an “act of God,” Sugarland’s attorneys said fair officials and Mid-America Sound Corp. were responsible for the stage setup, and that the fans voluntarily assumed risk by attending the show.

It is an eulogy of all the music revolutionaries (100 Top Djs) and it can’t but peak at number one on the official charts.
If anyone had questions whether Geo da Silva could find an adequate follow up to his massive hit ”Do you like a truck” then “Hey Mr. Dj Get Up” has answered them.

At heart it is a funny disco record, but even a somewhat distracted hearing of the song will tell you this man’s ideas are completely glorious and bright. Songs have rarely been so utterly cheerful. Geo da Silva and Dj Saftik s song is atrociously of a very high quality.

We will see for sure Saftik and Geo become even greater award magnets come this beginning of the year, leaving their contemporaries for dust.

History

The Pantheon was constructed around 27 B.C.E., construction continued until 25 B.C.E. It was commissioned to honor the defeat of Antony and Cleopatra by Actium. The original building burned around 80 C.E., it was then rebuilt in 125 C.E. by the emperor Hadrian. It was built as a fully functional temple and remained that way for over two centuries.

Structure

The structure of the Pantheon was unique for it’s time. It was a circular building with the only light coming in from an opening in the ceiling at the center, known as the oculus. During it’s time a temple various statues of deities filled the temple and animal sacrifices to the deities were performed in the center allowing the smoke to exit through the oculus.

Christianity

When Christianity took over Rome the Pantheon was abandoned. At the time it was illegal for any public worship of the pagan deities. However, later there was an order that decreed all buildings used. It eventually became a Christian Church. It was consecrated in the name of the Virgin Mary as the Church of Santa Maria Ad Martyers. It was dedicated to the saints and martyrs as well. This kept the theme of “pan” going.

Michelangelo

The Pantheon has gone through many changes from it’s functionality to its structure. It was looted numerous times and even stripped of its goods, like Bronze. Michelangelo in the 16th century studied the Pantheon for inspiration, this lead to the dome of St. Peter featured at the Vatican. The Dome is only two feet smaller in comparison to the Pantheon.

Inspiration

Now the Pantheon is a historic site to see, it was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1980. It has been the inspiration for many buildings today. These buildings include the British Museum Reading Room, The Tomas Jefferson Rotunda at the University of Virginia, The Low Library at Columbia University and the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia.

Kevin Costner & Modern West will hit the road for a spring tour, beginning March 28 in Lakeland, Fla. The country-rockers will hit 14 cities in the U.S. and Canada, before wrapping July 1 in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

The Oscar-winning actor formed Modern West in 2005, after playing and writing music for more than two decades. Signing a major label deal in 2008 was a career accomplishment he never expected. “That wasn’t my endgame,” Kevin told The Boot in an exclusive interview just before his Grand Ole Opry debut. “My endgame was my wife saying, ‘I don’t know why you don’t start playing music again, because you love to do it.’ And that was kind of a two year process of her going, ‘Why don’t you take the trash out?’ ‘Ah, I’ll do it tomorrow.’ And after two years of her doing that, I said, ‘Well, I’ll start writing again with my friend and we’ll just start playing.’
